The Details
Moments from Anna Hop’s “Husband and Wife”
…NPAFE is privileged to confirm that acclaimed Polish choreographer Anna Hop has joined as Lead Choreographer for its proposed eight-episode immersive docuseries for Netflix or Hulu, “Arc and Sound of Dance”.
…NPAFE is equally proud to sponsor Hop’s first U.S. workshop, to be held May 2–3, 2025 at New York City’s Joyce Theater Center for Creativity & Dance, where she will lead participants through multiple dance forms, including excerpts from her celebrated stage work “Husband and Wife” which NPAFE intends to stage in New York City in 2027.
…Recognized across Europe as one of the few women to move successfully from ballet and contemporary dance performance into major commissioned choreography, Hop has appeared more than 1,600 times as a dancer – most notably with the Polish National Theatre – and has created 25 original works of varying scale in five countries. She is a revolution in motion, hand-picked by Paris Opera Ballet Artistic Director José Martínez to help identify the next generation of star dancers.
…Hop’s artistry bridges the classical and contemporary worlds with an emotional and architectural precision that has earned international acclaim. Among her many distinctions, she was selected by ARTE Concert and the Picasso Dance Project to choreograph and perform “The Fall of Dora Maar”, one of just five exclusive dance films commissioned worldwide to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death in 2023. This work cemented her reputation as an artist unafraid to reinterpret history through motion, imagery, and character.

…Hop’s ongoing projects reaffirm her standing as one of Europe’s most inventive choreographic voices: serving during 2025 as jury member for auditions of the Ballet de l’Opéra National de Paris, winning new commissions for the Polish National Opera’s 200th anniversary, two operas premiering in 2026 and 2027, a revival at Tring Park Elmhurst School (UK), a new creation for the Silesian Opera, and a full-length “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for Wrocław Opera Ballet.
…Anna Hop’s leadership in Arc and Sound of Dance and the New York workshop have been made possible through the generous support of HarrisonParrott, the London-based international arts management firm.
