Three Raw Footage Samplers

Each under two minutes, these three short sampler videos, drawn from raw footage shot at Manhattan’s Joyce Theater studios in early November 2025, demonstrate a foundational principle of the Arc and Sound of Dance production:

…that storytelling intimacy and genuine viewer immersion on a two-dimensional screen can emerge through human coordination and physical proximity, with cameras themselves choreographed as performers inside the action.

The sampler videos capture, in raw form, a process of trial, error, and refinement that mirrors how the Arc and Sound of Dance story will ultimately unfold.

Creative authority moves fluidly among performers, body-mounted cameras and their dancer-wearers, other on-scene camera operators, and rehearsal leadership as the work takes form. They are all part of the story.

Ambition, vulnerability, missteps, rejection, and the first-ever scripting of cameras as performers all come into view, pointing toward a series designed to hold attention across all eight episodes.

Coming next? An upcoming five-to-seven-minute proof-of-concept work merging the elements tested in these three sampler videos for immersively capturing in film the act of creation itself.
