The Three Arc and Sound of Dance Raw Footage Samplers

Each under two minutes, these three short sampler videos, drawn from raw footage shot at Manhattan’s Joyce Theater studios in early November 2025, demonstrate a foundational principle of the Arc and Sound of Dance production:

…that genuine viewer immersion using a two-dimensional screen can be achieved by merging human movement with cameras that are themselves choreographed as performers in the action.

These sampler videos capture, in raw form, our process of trial, error, and refinement that mirrors how Arc and Sound of Dance will achieve that immersion.

Creative control is exchanged among rehearsal leadership, performers, body-mounted cameras and their dancer-wearers, other on-scene camera operators, and tech staff, each and all who will actually be on-screen players as the Arc and Sound of Dance story unfolds.

Ambition, vulnerability, missteps, rejection, and the first-ever scripting of cameras as performers will all come into view, pointing toward a series that will hold viewer attention across all eight episodes.

Coming next? An upcoming five-to-seven-minute Arc and Sound of Dance proof-of-concept work merging the elements tested in these three sampler videos for immersively capturing the act of creation itself.
